We’re a little over a month away from Seduction, and our senses are already tingling with anticipation about the sexy treats planned for this year’s Halloween celebration. A Halloween party just isn’t complete without music to make your booties shake, so the Seduction team rounded up a group of AMAZING DJs to keep you moving and grooving all night. Read about them below, and come see them in action at our party on October 29th!
“Fabulous Fab”:
Fabulous Fab started in 1985 as a FM radio tech at the ripe age of 17 years old. A year later he started DJ’ing for birthdays, wedding, corporate parties, etc. He created his own company and stopped DJ’ing for the next few years. Time passed and Fab’s love for old school funk got his heart and mind into house, tech funk, tech house, and deep house— bringing him back to the decks and to the art and craft of DJing. Fab and DJ Diem have historically played the the longha.us series (http://www.longha.us), and are well known among the local and regional fans of the Burning Man festival as accomplished House DJs.
Seduction 2016 Set Time: 9:30pm – 11pm
Kristina Childs:
“I’m not the type to just sit there and listen, I want to be involved,” says Kristina Childs. “The first time I heard this music, I knew I wanted to play it.” Starting in 1999 with a mixture of house, techno and drum & bass, Childs quickly evolved her style into the eclectic mix of genres she still plays today. Never content to stay within the lines, her range of musical style has allowed her to share the stage with artists of many types, including Speedy J, Kevin Saunderson, Richard Devine, Akufen, Thomas Fehlmann, Christian Martin and Bassnectar.
As well as being a guest DJ at many clubs in the Seattle area and nearly half of the US, Childs has held over 8 residencies and headlined events in Europe and South America. She’s had terrestrial radio airplay in Canada and Germany as well as the US, is the curator of Plasmodium, co-creator of KRAKT and as a founding director of Decibel Festival played an integral role in making it one of North America’s premier electronic music festivals.
Her diligence in the Seattle scene made her a popular Northwest DJ, combining excellent track selection and mixing skill with her signature floor-filling sound and energetic performances. In 2007 she won the Battle of the Mega-Mixes competition, successfully defended her title in 2008, and in 2009 was invited to judge alongside Pezzner and DJ Introcut.
Childs is a DJs DJ. She is known primarily for her techno sets, however you can hear her play everything from ambient to hip-hop, downtempo, electro, disco, breaks, new wave, funk or whatever else she feels like playing depending on the event. Childs was introduced to electronic music in 1995, but being involved in the punk scene, she remained a closet technohead until her first party in 1998. It was then she was introduced to deep house, and immediately knew this music would become a fundamental part of her life. It did, and within a year she was playing parties and after-hours around the Seattle area. Her debut release was 2004 in the form of a vocal appearance on Take’s Colossal Volume 1. Seduction 2016 Set Time: 11pm – Midnight-thirty
“burn(dream)”:
Born and raised in Seattle, burn(dream) discovered her calling as a DJ in 2013 at a BT show. She wowed the judges at a local DJ competition with her blend of dreamy melodies and pounding bass, earning a residency after-hours at Contour. She has gone on to play many local clubs, including the Mercury; she’s at her best when playing long sets in smaller, more intimate venues, allowing her progressive style to shine. Lately she’s been in the studio working on her production skills, creating mashups, remixes, and even the occasional original production to weave into her musical tapestry from behind the decks.
