Get ready for the Black Tie Affair

Dear art lovers, and beloved Art Activists, we have a serious inquiry for you. We know you love art – it’s part of what we love about you – but do you also love fancy parties that support the showing and sale of erotic art? We thought you might. It is time, darlings, for the 2022 Black Tie Affair.

You are invited to join us on the evening of March 26th for an exclusive soirée benefiting the Seattle Erotic Art Festival. Gallery Erato, Seattle’s year-long home for erotic art, will open its doors for a night of live music, provocative entertainment, and a peek at the 2022 Exhibition Art.

Sneak Preview

One of the most exciting parts of this evening is the preview of what SEAF 2022 will offer. A slideshow of accepted and invited visual artists will be playing throughout the evening. Jurors and curators will be on hand to share stories about why the certain pieces were chosen and what inspired their decisions. Our Festival Director, Sophia Sky, will tease you with details for this year’s festival plans. Art Activists have the first opportunity to purchase visual art at the Black Tie Affair. What better way to avoid the disappointment of seeing a red dot on the piece of art you fall in love with?

Art Docents will be on hand to answer questions about art and process sales. All art that is purchased at the Black Tie Affair will be available for pick up at the end of the Festival on Sunday, May 1st. Art Activists that cannot join us at the Affair will be provided an online gallery to preview the art.

Entertainment

Let us entertain you. Our Stage Performance Director, Boom Boom L’Roux, has sought out decadent and delightful entertainment for the evening. These performers will get your heart beating hard and wanting a chaise to dramatically collapse in. Be ready for something fabulous.

Z and Friends

We are honored to create space for the musical stylings of Arzelia Jones Jr and friends. Arzelia Jones Jr has a powerful voice that will resonate into your bones, a sound with a tangible feel that stirs emotions and captivates an audience.

Dulce D’Jour

With smoldering eyes and thick, caramel thighs Dulce D’jour is truly a sweet treat. Since finding burlesque in 2018, this Cuban cutie has peeled up and down the West Coast and is a co-founder of Papaya Magic Cabaret, an all Latina burlesque trio. The perfect combination of expression, confection, affection – Dulce lives to serve face and tantalize tastebuds.

A former bellydancer, Dulce brings her prior experiences with fabric manipulation to the stage, social media, and workshops. Additionally, she creates custom fabric props such as veils, fans, flags, and streamers for dancers around the world.

Judas Saint James

Judas Saint James is your new favorite erotic, non-binary, Saturday morning cartoon villain. Blending the worlds of glamour, kink, theater, and nostalgia, they aim to show you the beauty in contradiction and the pleasures of the unknown.

They started out doing drag then shed the wigs and tucking tape, and transitioned into burlesque and walking the kiki ballroom scene in Seattle! Formulated with killer beauty and an irresistible body, Judas aims to please the boys, the girls, and everyone in between. They are sure to leave you salivating, questioning, and wanting more.

diem

Closing out our evening, diem will get you dancing with an impressive collection of beats and rhythms. diem defines his sound as “hardtribaldisco”, a blend of tribal Latin rhythms, hard funk, house beats, breaks, and layered evil disco. Residing in Seattle, diem has played throughout America, Hawaii, Mexico, and Canada since 1993.

More ways to support the Festival

Buy raffle tickets for a chance to win baskets filled with sexy goodies from our sponsors, supporters, and donors. Raffle tickets will be on sale for $5 each, or $40 for an inseam or bust measurement in tickets. This year’s raffle baskets are still being assembled and will feature art from previous festivals, as well as items and treats from our wonderful donors.

Art Activists

If you, you know. If you don’t…well, we’ll let you in to this club. The Art Activist Society supports the erotic arts by allowing the Seattle Erotic Art Festival to support artists through offering scholarships for submission fees, funding collaborations with local organizations and providing funds for art projects, allowing us to offer times when the public can attend the festival for free, and so many other things that improve the quality and impact of SEAF every year.

All Society members enjoy benefits such as tickets to festival events, VIP entry and rewards, and free entry to the annual Black Tie Affair. Higher membership levels receive benefits such as lunch with the visual art jury, invitation to attend performance rehearsal, and a custom art tour at the festival. Membership is annual.

We look forward to spending a sumptuous evening with you. We will be continuing to follow state and county guidelines for our events. Proof of vaccination is not required for this year’s Black Tie Affair, though we do ask that you keep a mask on when not eating or drinking. See you soon!
