More ropes, more rigs: the SEAF 2023 Aerial & Bondage Ambient Performers

It is ever our goal to make sure that while you are at the festival, there is something happening. We’re not content to just be a exhibition of some of the most decadent and sensuous art in the world. We want you to feel as if the experience were immersive, as if stepping into the hall was like stepping into a realm of art and eroticism. The SEAF 2023 Aerial & Bondage Ambient Performers are here to help us achieve that goal.

BillyBoarlet & NotYourAnything

“Tonight Belongs to Us”
BillyBoarlet (he/they) and NotYourAnything (she/they) are queer, neurodivergent rope humans based in San Francisco. Connected by a mutual love of fucking around and finding out, they have performed together and separately at events such as New Bohemia NYE, Twisted Windows, and the Folsom Street Fair.
Their 2023 SEAF performances will explore themes of identity and otherness, reclamation, and growth, through the familiar lenses of suffering and play.

Bishop & Leila Rose

“Entanglement”
Bishop and Leila Rose bonded from afar over a mutual love of rope amid the pandemic and developed a deep partnership that has continued to grow and evolve over the years. They see rope as a foundational element of their relationship. They are always thrilled to share their love of tying as a medium for a profound connection with one another and the community. While their performances range from sensual to sexual, intimate to playful, artistic to primal – and everything in between – their 2023 SEAF performance, ‘Entanglement,’ expresses the journey they have shared and the boundless (pardon the pun!) opportunities that lie ahead.

Haily & J

“Suffer For Me”
Haily (she/they) identifies as a switch and found rope through the kink scene in Seattle. Engaging since 2019, their rope journey has continued to be an area of growth and passion. Turning over a new leaf, they will perform a Semenawa act finding ultimate freedom in surrendering to the power of being molded into someone’s creation.
J (they/ them) is a performer, educator, and “host” for the Outdoor Rope Group (ORG) in Seattle. They are obsessed with tying. It scratches their artistic, engineering, and sadomasochistic itches better than any other activity. J adores playing with torture and objectification on both sides of the slash. They love to play with other switches, turning each other into gorgeous (and suffering) works of art.
Together, they will reveal some of their most intimate parts in demanding and enduring pain with love.

Hitchin Kitten & Carter Brûlée

“a little birthday bondage”
Hitchin’ Kitten and Carter Brulee are playful switches who love embracing kink’s sillier sides. Don’t be surprised if you find them laughing, dancing, or singing while doing nice and mean things. When they aren’t goofing around in rope, they individually and collectively teach kink and sexuality-related classes at events near and far. This year’s performance, “a little birthday bondage,” invites you to a birthday bash for our favorite boy, Carter Brûlée! Gifts of voyeurism are welcome. Pizza not provided.

Kneelbaby & SluttyHands

“Handle with Care”
In rope, Kneelbaby is looking for power, deconstruction, and objectification, where she is invited to surrender, to trust deeply, to become exchanged energy, to become feral sound and telltale breath. SluttyHands’s rope is an invitation for closeness, balancing on the edge between taking control and asking for submission, hoping for the gift of his partner’s surrender.

Knottydevil

“Connective Flow”
Knottydevil has been involved in the rope scene for almost six years. His performances have included mixtures of shibari suspension, connective flow, western bondage, and self-suspension. His current obsession is with escape ties, furniture rope, and device bondage. He loves his rope community which he considers his chosen family, and is incredibly grateful for the privilege to perform and do what he loves.

Leviathan Dauntless

Leviathan has more than earned the name Dauntless with their charismatic and mysterious personality. When not drowning willing victims in the deep they’re a writer and a crafter, creating magical worlds and tempting toys. They’ll draw you in with charm and guile and leave you daydreaming for days. Returning for their second spotlight performance at SEAF, they’re always looking for new ways to stretch the imagination and raise the bar.

Shannonagannery & MxBliss

“Church Girls”
Shannonagannery and MxBliss share a love of the silly and subversive. They were immediately drawn to one another. When the two met, a relationship centered on mutual respect, laughter, adoration, creativity, empowerment, and care blossomed. Having been drawn to rope for years, Shannon embarked on her rope journey in 2019 but only took flight once meeting Bliss. Now the two can be found tying and flying together and separately throughout the Portland area and beyond. Their rope scenes are noted for their creative and often humorous tones, but in even the most lighthearted scenes, the deep respect, empowerment, and love shine through.

Shay Tiziano

“The Great Circle: A Dynamic Exploration of Geodesic Constraints”
Shay Tiziano (she/her or they/them) is a dynamic presenter, community organizer, and self-suspender renowned for their innovative, acrobatic bondage performances and friendly, attainable, and risk-mitigation-focused approach to kink education. She is the author of Tying & Flying, the first-ever book about self-suspension, and Creating Captivating Classes, a guide for kink and sexuality educators. Her ambient self-suspension performance is a meditation on the envelopment of art within a Platonic solid, celebrating jitterbug and semi-stable constructs.

Suriyo, Lyra Flow

“Anime and Flow”
Suriyo loves all things flow, expresses movements, and combines floor work with her aerial flow. She believes that movement is self-expression and a form of self-care. She takes pride in seeing patients at AceMed Seattle, helping patients take their aches and pains away.

“Sacrifice to the Old Gods: The Chase, Surrender, and Acceptance of Sacrifice.”
