Counting down to the SEAF 2023 Call for Art

Hello there, theydies and gentlethems! Are you ready to art? (Yes, this is a Cheap Trick reference, don’t judge me.) So, my magnificent creatives, we are interrupting your Turkey Day and Native American Heritage Day with a very important announcement. It is that most wonderful time of the year once more. No, not that time. On December 1, the SEAF 2023 Call for Art is go!

So time to bust out your gear, make that emergency run to the art store, critically examine your performance playlist, whatever it is that gets you feeling creative and sexy, because we need you! That’s right, you, right there. I see you. You do not need to hit those Black Friday sales, you need to stay home and get your art on.

The Call for Art will run from December 1, 2022 to January 15, 2023. That is 46 days to submit your juicy, thought-provoking, provocative, and evocative creations. Because we want them, my darlings. We want you, the artist, to help us answer our eternal question: “What is erotic?”

This year we will be offering an Early Bird discounted fee of $20 for submissions until the end of the day on December 15. Beginning on the 16th, submissions fees are $38. Your fee allows you to submit up to 5 works to the festival. As we do each year, we are pleased to offer a scholarship program to artists from traditionally marginalized communities. (If you, gentle reader, are not an artist, but would like to contribute, kindly consider donating to our scholarship program here.) As always, there is no submission fee for artists who live and create outside of North America.

Now, as you may have seen, we have been changing things up quite a bit this year. Installations is now Interactive, and had its own call (which ends on November 30, time is ticking). We are delighted to be hosting the second annual Pan Eros Film Festival. Last year’s PEFF went wonderfully. The call for Film is already underway, and will go until March 1, 2023. Literary is being streamlined and restructured, now with three categories: Poetry, Flash, and Short Works. We know there’s a lot that’s new this year, and that’s always a little intimidating, but I promise we were a good festival and updated the FAQ and all the Call for Art pages with the information you need. It’s all there. And, as always, volunteers are standing by to answer questions as they come up.

A breakdown of our fees and deadlines, along with some handy information and frequently asked questions, can be found here. I know I speak for the entire team when I say we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us this year!
