Submit Like a Pro – Advice for Artists

The Call for Art for visual, literary, installation, and store artists is well underway! We are oh-so-delighted to receive and peruse your titillating erotic art entries. The SEAF team wants to make your life easy by providing a few things to keep in mind while you navigate the submission process. These words of advice come from years of receiving artwork for the festival, and will help ensure your art is presented in the best way possible!

1 Piece of Art Per Entry

Visual artists, take note: please submit only 1 piece of art per entry. You will notice three places to upload images for your entry. The first place should be used for your main image, the remaining two are for those juicy close-up/detail views or alternate views for 3D works. Paying the entry fee allows you to submit up to 5 pieces of visual art, but each piece must have its own separate entry (you will only be prompted to pay once!).

Just the Art In the Photo, Please!

Do not add any watermarks or lettering on the image. This makes it difficult for our jurors and curators to effectively evaluate your work (and we wouldn’t want that, would we?). Don’t worry, we promise not to post any images without your permission.

Tell Us Everything

Completely fill out your profile and bio now to save time later. Artists may use a pseudonym/professional name if desired; your legal name will be kept confidential. If you are using a pseudonym or professional name, make sure you add the name to your Artist Profile, and ensure you use the same name in your bio, too!

Ask a Friend to Proofread

Double-check (maybe even triple-check) all spelling and punctuation of art titles. SEAF does not edit art titles; we assume the title is part of the art and will not let spell-check “fix it”.

Register & Pay Now, Submit Art Later

Another little tidbit of information: you have just a few more days to snag our early bird discount, in honor of the Seattle Erotic Art Festival’s 15th Anniversary! Pay your entry fee by December 18th, and get a $20 discount off our standard fee. You don’t have to submit your work immediately— simply pay the fee by the deadline, and submit at any time until the Call for Art ends January 15th, 2017. Learn more about the submission process, and when ready, submit your art in our Submission Portal.
