Eerily Erotic Artists at Seduction

Church – A Short Film by John Santerineross

This year, as you pass from the Midway into the Big Top at Seduction, you will see art depicting the darker side of eroticism. This special room may remind you of the Oddities Emporiums of the carnivals of yesteryear. These spooky, yet alluring, pieces of art are nothing to be scared of. Many of these artists are Seattle Erotic Art Festival alumni. All art is for sale, so bring your art collecting appetite!

In addition to the visual art, we are pleased to show five concept films by John Santerineross. These disturbingly sexy shorts will be projected above the bar in the Midway.

The Dollmaker by Visioluxus

John Santerineross is an American photographer with a background in ceramics and painting. He is considered to be a “neo-symbolist”, an artist that continues or reinterprets the 19th century art movement Symbolism. Like its predecessor, neo-symbolism focuses on the spiritual, the subconscious, and dreams. Santerineross’ unique style and content has inspired an entire new generation of artists; his complex aesthetic is derived from a combination of his exposure to Catholicism and Santeria and by his fascination with Greek mythology, world religions and iconography.

Visioluxus is Elisa Lazo de Valdez of Portland, Oregon. She is a retired photographer with over a decade of experience producing photography for the book publishing market, as well as editorial articles, fashion collections, and gallery exhibitions. Elisa sees photography as a wonderful excuse to play dress up, and the perfect tool for expressing herself. Her work is often described as dream-like, surreal and haunting, with an emphasis on the dark and spooky.
